MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Best Buy has partnered with Listia, a Web and mobile marketplace where customers can trade used items for new ones.
According to the agreement terms, Listia will enable customers to trade their used items for new Best Buy products via its Rewards Store.

"We've helped more than two million users sell their old and unwanted goods for Listia credits that can be used to purchase brand new merchandise. By integrating our Rewards program with the BBYOpen API, we can now offer hundreds of thousands of premium Best Buy items to our community of traders."
Listia launched its site more than three years ago, and more than half a million items get traded via its platform every month. The company contends that it has seen more than 500% mobile growth in the past year, with more than 600,000 trades conducted via iPhone and Android devices.
Through their BBYOpen application-programming interfaces, Best Buy enables its partners to display more than 500,000 products on their own Web presences. Its latest partner, Listia, is therefore able to tap into the consumer electronics retailer’s product catalog. Items purchased through sites powered by BBYOpen are shipped directly to consumers, or can be made available for same day pickup at more than 1,000 Best Buy retail locations nationwide.
Headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., Listia enables users to exchange goods free. Traders give away things they don't want or need in exchange for credits they can later redeem for goods offered by other users.
