E-commerce innovator adds tech talent

Former Hewlett-Packard executive Shelley Perry was named SVP and chief technology officer at online electronics retailer Newegg, the company announced Monday. The company also name Merle McIntosh as SVP product management.

“Newegg is dedicated to attracting top industry talent as we prepare to propel the company through our next stage of growth,” said Bob Bellack, CEO of Newegg North America. “Both Shelley and Merle are tremendous additions to our leadership team and we’re all thrilled to have them on board.”

Perry and McIntosh are expected to help fuel Newegg’s growth by driving innovation and providing leadership to the organization’s technology and product management teams.

As the newly appointed chief technology officer, a role Perry held previously at HP and TicketMaster, she will leverage her extensive technical and software product management background to oversee Newegg’s product roadmap and all technology initiatives within the organization.

“It’s an exciting time to join Newegg,” said Perry. “Newegg has already built a world-class e-commerce platform and an impressive customer base. I look forward to working with the team to continue building on the platform and working towards enhancing the user shopping experience.”

McIntosh is also a technology veteran with more than 25 years of experience in product management, marketing, e-commerce and merchandising. He joins Newegg from PC Connection, Inc. where he was SVP marketing and product management.

“I have followed Newegg over the years and have been impressed with their ability to quickly establish themselves as a leader in the industry, offering an outstanding assortment of computer components and consumer electronics,” McIntosh said. “My goal is to build on that success by continuing to expand the product selection and driving growth in critical categories.”

Newegg was founded in 2001 and offers a comprehensive selection of computer hardware and consumer electronics products, detailed product descriptions and images, as well as how-to information and customer reviews.
