Midwest Gloves breaks new merchandising ground

"Head-to-Toe" is the name of a customizable merchandising vehicle developed by Midwest gloves to grow gardening category sales.

The innovative floor stand allows retailers to offer a customized mix of hats, gloves and footwear products offered by Midwest Gloves. The aptly named Head-to-Toe merchandiser was created to give retailers a highly flexible and effective way to appeal to female gardening shoppers. In addition to the customizable assortment capabilities, a small 1.25 square foot footprint means the display can be strategically located to maximize sales without disrupting customer traffic.

"This new gardening product merchandising method is truly exciting. The unique advantage of this approach is that we are able to work with individual retailers to satisfy the specific product assortment needs of their market," said MidWest’s president, Stephen J. Franke.

The Chillicother, Mo.,-based company manufactures a full line of premium quality work gloves including lined leather, unlined leather, leather palm, chemical resistant, chore, jersey and cotton. The company also manufactures a full line of automotive gloves, outdoor gloves and garden gloves as well as lawn and garden footwear, boots and rainwear.
