Wet Seal partners with Fifth Harmony for new line

Wet Seal is partnering with girl group Fifth Harmony for a new collection of clothes that will be rolled out over the next three seasons.

The line will feature styles modeled on each member of the five-piece group, which formed in 2012 during the second season of “The X Factor.” Basing different pieces of the collection on each member of Fifth Element means a diversity that will range from grunge looks to more dressy styles.

“We are excited to be working with Fifth Harmony as they continue their rise to super stardom,” Wet Seal CEO John D. Goodman said. “Their individuality and sense of style makes them relatable to the Wet Seal girl and they are truly representative of the various backgrounds of our customer. We think they are great ambassadors for the Wet Seal brand.”

As part of the partnership, the band’s upcoming album, “Reflections,” will be sold in the 200 Wet Seal locations in the U.S. and its website. Customers who buy a piece from the new collection will be given a free download of the band’s song “BO$$.”

Additionally, the company is kicking off the partnership with a contest for customers. The grand prize is four tickets to a Fifth Harmony concert and a shopping spree with the band.

"We're thrilled to be partnering with Wet Seal to launch the Fifth Harmony collection,” Sony Music Entertainment’s VP Mat Vlasic said. “This represents a new approach for Sony Music in the ever changing music business; no longer are we just in the business of breaking artists, we’re also breaking brands."
