Global supply chains in an Ayn Rand World is the theme of the 10th annual Supply Chain Management Research Center spring conference to be held Thursday, March 17 at the University of Arkansas Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development. The event will last from 7:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. with industry leaders slated to share their views on a wide range of supply chain topics.
Dr. Yaron Brook, president and executive director of the Ayn Rand Institute will share views on the topic of the state of international trade competition and regulation. Walmart senior director of trade strategy with Walmart global sourcing will discuss the state of international trade competition and regulation. Free trade, globalization and the real skinny regarding NAFTA is a subject that will be addressed by Dr. Stanely Fawcett, the Donald L. Staheli profession of international management at the Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management.
A panel presentation on the topic of how to grow in a growing world will be discussed by representatives from Procter & Gamble, Walmart, CHEP and Nestle. Another panel discussion led by Dr. John Ozment, professor and Oren Harris chair of transportation with the Sam M. Walton College of Business will address compliance safety and accountability. Participants will include, Chris Sultemeier, Walmart’s SVP transportation; Craig Harper, COO of JB Hunt; Shannon Lively, VP transportation at ABF Freight System and Lane Kidd, president of the Arkansas Trucking Association.
