GREENSBORO, N.C. — Apparel merchandiser VF Corp. announced that Tom Glaser, VP global operations, will succeed Boyd Rogers as VP of VF and president supply chain, effective Jan. 1. Rogers is retiring from the company after a 40-year career with company, effective Dec. 31.
Glaser will assume responsibility for VF’s global supply chain, including all manufacturing and sourcing operations. He joined VF in 2001 as managing director VF Asia Ltd. Sourcing, based in Hong Kong. During his five years there, he was instrumental in further diversifying and expanding VF’s global sourcing network in support of VF’s growing portfolio of brands. In 2006, Glaser was named president supply chain Europe/Asia, based in Lugano, Switzerland. He was named to his current role, VP global operations, in 2010, and relocated to VF’s world headquarters in Greensboro, N.C. In his new role, Glaser will join VF’s operating committee.
Rogers, 62, began his VF career at Blue Bell Inc., in 1971, and held various manufacturing, engineering and product management assignments. He joined the VF corporate team in 2000, assuming responsibility for process reengineering, as well as management of the shared services, technology and global sourcing organizations. In 2004, he was named VP global supply chain and technology and became a member of the VF operating committee. He was named to his current role in 2005.
