The OfficeMax Green Tie Ball will be held this weekend to raise funds for the beautification of Chicago.
The retailer on Thursday morning disclosed it was the title sponsor of the 21st annual event being held Saturday, September 15. The event is hosted by nonprofit organization Chicago Gateway Green, which is dedicated to greening and beautifying Chicagoland's expressways, gateways and communities. "OfficeMax is pleased to partner with Chicago Gateway Green to sponsor this year's Green Tie Ball that brings additional resources to the city's beautification programs," said Ravi Saligram, OfficeMax president and CEO. "As a multi-national company headquartered locally, we are proud to invest in this great community where many of our customers, supply partners and associates live, work and play."
This year’s event theme is "Alice in Wonderland", and OfficeMax Green Tie Ball guests will enjoy food from more than 60 of Chicago's restaurants including Frog & Snail, Province, GT Fish & Oyster, Frontier and Public House. Entertainment during the gala will include a special performance by Red Moon Theatre, live music from Chicago cover bands Dr. Bombay and South of 80, as well as deejay sets by Pete Wentz and DJ Rock City. A separate casino tent will feature roulette, blackjack and craps, as well as a silent auction. Winnings from the casino games will go towards tickets for the raffle. The event will be emceed by ABC7's "Windy City LIVE!" co-hosts Valerie Warner and Ryan Chiaverini. OfficeMax will also host a photo booth at the ball.
The event will be held at A. Finkl & Sons, 2011 N. Southport in Chicago.
