Enabler of e-commerce adds technology VP

DropShip Commerce, a provider of distributed supply chain management solutions to mid-market retailers, appointed of Scott Lemon as VP of technology.

Lemon will oversee the firm’s software as a service-based, on-demand platform to help retailers and manufacturers use the virtual supply chain to be more responsive to consumer demand in the age of e-commerce.

“We could not have found someone more capable and well suited to lead our technology efforts than Scott,” said Jeremy Hanks, founder and CEO of DropShip Commerce. “Over his career, he has demonstrated a proven ability to apply his extensive tech expertise across any industry and create innovative solutions. With Scott on board, we have an all-star management team that is perfectly positioned to help disrupt traditional supply chain methods and deliver significant growth for the company.”

Lemon spent the past 13 years providing Internet technology consulting and chief technology officer services to corporations and startups such as HP, Adobe and Overstock.com. According to DropShip Commerce, Lemon created a wide range of business process automation platforms utilizing open source, cloud and mobile technologies. Previously, Lemon worked at Novell’s corporate office for more than a decade in product management, systems architecture and research and development in a wide range of networking and identity management areas.

“By changing how retailers and suppliers work together, DropShip is transforming how B2B supply chains operate, and I look forward to leveraging my professional background to bolster the company’s technology base,” Lemon said.

DropShip Commerce contends it brings third-party distributed inventory functionality similar to that popularized by the Amazon.com Marketplace model to mid-market retailers. The company helps retailers and manufacturers gain greater visibility and control over the supply chain by streamlining product merchandising, inventory management and order management.
