Winn-Dixie woos BTS shoppers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie has its eye on back-to-school shoppers who are stretching budgets at the height of the back-to-school season. It plans on freezing prices throughout a 10-week period on hundreds of products across every category and department across the store.

According to the National Retail Federation, despite modest employment gains and steady consumer confidence, Americans remain in a cautiously positive spending pattern. It makes sense then for Winn-Dixie to offer the price freeze as a means of driving foot traffic to its stores.

“We are working hard to provide our customers the products they want at prices they can afford,” said Mary Kellmanson, Winn-Dixie’s SVP of marketing. “Add a great selection of high-quality products, combined with extra attention to customer service, and we believe we’ve made shopping better and more affordable for our customers.”

The first wave of Dependable Deals coincide with back to school and includes Dove soap, Ritz Crackers, Skippy Peanut Butter, Red Baron Pizza, Classico Pasta Sauce, Duncan Hines Brownies, Del Monte vegetables, Special K Bars, Scott Bath Tissue, Era Liquid Detergent, Oscar Meyer Selects and Hormel Cooked Ham.

In addition to Dependable Deals, Winn-Dixie is touting its loyalty rewards program — including the Winn-Dixie Reward Card and savings tied to its fuelperks! fuel rewards program, $4/$10 generic pharmaceuticals and weekly sales solutions including BOGOs, 10-for-$10s, Make-A-Meals and What-A-Deals. Winn-Dixie also offers eCoupons, which allow shoppers load savings to the Winn-Dixie Reward Card and have them redeemed automatically with a swipe of the card at the register.
